My 13 year old granddaughter liked it. She does have some musical background (piano lessons). In creating tapes of printed music, we found the following things. The music box does not play sequential 1/8 notes of the same note (solid vertical line + dashed vertical line).as in "Happy Birthday to You". Consecutive plays of the same note must be on solid vertical lines (spaced as 1/4 notes so crank a little faster to get the proper tempo) and the notes are all the same duration. The 1/2 notes in "Happy Birthday" were done with a blank vertical line to get the proper note spacing (a blank line is a rest, but it's not identified as such in the limited docs). Great for someone who likes to create things - even their own music.
