Works great with esp8266. Can be powered with 3.3 volts or 5 volts.

Easy to solder up and hook it to arduino nano. Sample sketches work great. When fully lit as all white this can draw a quite a lot of power. Measured over 2 Amps when fully lit, so get yourself a good 5V powersource.

I can recommend this set without any doubt. It consists of 5 sets of WS2812 leds combined in one round plate. You can separate them, or use as a whole if you like.
Basic soldering skills are needed in any case.
The WS2812B is very well documented, just google for more information. There are a lot of ready made example sketches for Arduino boards to get started. If you are planning to use all 61 leds at the same time, an external 5 V power supply is necessary.
