Introduce:

If, like many scanner enthusiasts and ham operators, you are interested in listening in on all the excitement manifest in aeronautical communication, but lack the equipment to pursue your interest, then maybe the Aviation-Band Receiver described in this article is for you. The Aviation Receiver, designed to tune the 118-135 MHz band, features exceptional sensitivity, image rejection, signal-to-noise ratio, and stability. The receiver is ideally suited to listening in on ground and air communication associated with commercial airlines and general aviation.
Powered from a 9-volt alkaline battery, it can be taken along with your to local airports so that you won't miss a moment frequency 10.7-MHz higher than the incoming 118-135 MHz signals. A tuning network , consisting of varactor diode D1 and potentiometer R1, allows the local-oscillator frequency to be tuned across about 15MHz.

Feature:

The kit uses bandpass filters, high-level radioactive 3355, NE602 mixer, MC1350 program in place, you can receive AM signals 118-136MHz's.
The PCB trace inductance direct printing, which greatly simplifies the difficulty of assembly.
3AGC circuit board to ensure listening comfort, while avoiding the long squelch noise.
12V power supply, PCB board size is 9.2 x 7.5cm

Tip: Due to the VHF band has similar propagation of light travels in straight lines ---- receiving location accessible from the airport, but the distance (more than 25Km) is sure to install VHF Yagi antenna contour segment gain antenna; receiving site between the airport there are large obstacles (including, but not limited to, buildings, mountains, towers) are sure to bypass obstacles, thank you!

Notes:

Tunes entire 118 -136 MHz Aviation band.
Easy tuning using one IF coil and one tuning coil (L6).
Operates on regular 9 volt alkaline battery.
Range 130 miles max (approximate) depending on type of antenna and location.
Receive control tower, aircraft-to-aircraft, maintenance, ground, ATIS, etc.
Squelch, and plenty of volume control.

Package included:

Product as described, fast delivery and good quality, Price/Quality is very good. A very nice DIY kit delivered without any instruction....but you can find all the needed information on the internet. PCB is very high class quality with the coils already printed directly on the PCB.(New version).Easy to adjust. Some components (2 resistors and 3 capacitors) were missing...but i've had them in stock. The receiver worked directly after assembling....only needed to adjust 2 coils. I've tested the receiver with a distance about 30Km from the airport. Used a regulating dipole Antenna on my kitchen table to receive the aircrafts(see pictures). Minus point are the splashing squelch and the frequentie potmeter(better to mount a 10turn potmeter). Recommended !!!

Wanted to build a radio so I could listen to aircraft. Had no issues with the kit. Arrived on time. I did locate a case for it so it had a more finished look. Very fun project.

I enjoyed assembling of this nice kit, easy to tune. I am a little bit far away from north airpport at Paris, but i can listen conversations berween pilot and airport dipatcher. I will integrate it in a more adequate and mobile box. Thank you Banggood.

Not for space communications but if you live anywhere near the airport, it is an easy way to get the idea, whatś going on in the air above you. High quality pcb, all components includes, the board has even pre-soldered LC components for band-pass filter, so the hard work has been done for you.

The PCB for this receiver was a little rough, and needed to be thoroughly cleaned before assembly could begin. There were two wrong components supplied, but I keep a good stock of parts, so this was only a minor annoyance. The aerial socket didn't fit the holes provided for it on the PCB, but I used a short piece of coax to a panel-mounted socket instead. I have built this into a small diecast case, with a rechargeable battery pack for power, and have added a frequency counter to display the received frequency. This is now a superb little airband receiver, and is able to receive the commercial bugging devices around 135MHz!

The kit can be made in a long evening and there are no surprises as everything fitted. I used a signal generator to align it but it was simple to do and can be done without one. In use it is sensitive and stable. Excellent value for money.

This kit is another great buy from Banggood! As usual, a high quality, gold plated through hole, fibre glass PCB. The RF circuitry is pre installed which means that there's no difficulty winding coils and getting the turns number correct. All high qulaity components make this a breeze to construct in just a couple of hours. A quick adjust at switch on and I was listening to loads of aircraft conversations. A great kit and well worth the money.

The kit arrived with the inductors and capacitors for the rf bandpass pre-installed. The board is labeled well. I will provide additonal information after assembly and test.

The kit is easy to assemble, there is no difficulty, no trap is quite clear. It takes about five hours to weld all components. The result is amazing, sensitivity is good, the stability is good and the selectivity is average. I do not regret this purchase, I recommend.
